Second stage is on

24.06.2019 - 06:31

143,4 kilometres and 3473 meters of climbing awaiting the participants today at the second stage from Brixen to Kaltern.

This is a completely new stage with two passes. For the first time, the route crosses the Penser Joch - on a little-used road from Sterzing into the Sarntal valley. The descent is comparatively smooth and less steep - in the midst of blooming mountain meadows, it is quite nice to ride.

At the gates of the provincial capital Bozen, the second ascent begins via Jenesien to the Schermoos - Sattel. Riders can look forward to great views over the bustling city - and later the tranquillity of further alpine meadows can be enjoyed. The descent also offers a beautiful view to the Etsch and the wide valley full of plantations. The winegrowing reigns the landscape on the wine road from Eppan up to Kaltern.
